World Usability Day 2010

For the World Usability Day 2010, that was organized this year togehter with the "IHK für München und Oberbayern", we continued our engagement with the German UPA and took part of the organization team. Andreas Lehmann, founder and owner of lemisoft, held the opening talk and a closing talk.

It was a very successful day with a perfect organisation, interesting and diverting talks about the subject "Communication" and a small but exciting exhibition. We are looking forward to upcoming events in 2011: The "Mensch & Computer" in September in Chemnitz and the World Usability Day in November.

World Usability Day 2008

Just like last year, in 2008 we also played a part in organizing the World Usability Day in Munich and took the lead in preparing and executing the event. In tune with the motto of "Transportation", the event was sited at the Traffic Center of the Deutsches Museum in Munich. Showcasing traffic-related exhibits, the auditorium in the lobby provided a professional and fitting framework.

More than 100 interested participants listened to a lecture program focusing on various aspects of the topic "Usability in Transportation" which led to a more in-depth discussion with controversial moments.

The range of topics covered navigation concepts in motorcars, the development of innovative visualization and handling concepts for control centers, the design and usability in mobile navigation systems, a consideration of the fun-factor in operation, IT-based travel planning to airborne traffic observation from the sky or from space.

Play follows work and an "After Show event" provided a good ending of the day and offered enough time and space for further discussions.

World Usability Day 2007

Working closely with two other companies, we were in charge of organizing the World Usability Day 2007 in Munich whose main focus lay on Healthcare. The suitable venue of the German Heart Centre Munich provided a very professional framework.

An intereseting and first-class series of talks addressed the various aspects of usability in the healthcare industry. The range of topics ranged from "Usability-Defects as a Threat to Safety" over "Legal Environment of Usability in Medical Technology" and "Experimental Usabiliy in a Medical Setting" to "User Centered Design for Medical Devices".

In spite of the many lectures, the very successful and highly renowned event gave participants enough time for lively discussions during coffee breaks.

World Usability Day

After our engagement as a sponsor and co-organiser at the Munich Usability Day in the years 2004 and 2005, we also participated in the World Usability Day 2005. As a sponsor and exhibitor, we and our client Tecan Austria showed that software for complex medical applications can be easily operated. We will participate at the World Usability Day 2007 in Munich.
